Bruno Mankowski, born in Berlin, studied at the Municipal Art School in Berlin and Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris before emigrating to the U.S.A. (New Jersey). He was a W.P.A. artist and exhibited widely before eventually settling in Florida. Painter, sculptor and craftsman, he engaged in many styles from classic figure studies (see Drawings) to allegorical lithographs to humorous caricatures, such as this depiction of an old hag recapturing her youth in a girlie magazine.
